    Barrack Obama's war: An Editorial
    By: Evan Fuller
In a campaign speech two years ago Obama addressed the topic of a military strike in 2005 against a terrorist meeting in Pakistan and criticized Bush for aborting the mission due of fear that it would jeopardize relations with Pakistan he stated " If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will."
Following his election president Obama cleared two predator drones on January 23, 2009 to take out two head members of al-Qaida, both of the targets were neutralized. As promised Obama has taken steps to prevent future terrorist attacks by eliminating the threat, but continues to be criticized for his actions against terrorist threats in the middle east. He asked that "the American people understand that this is a down payment on our own future – because the security of our two countries is shared"
People who say to bring the troops now don’t seem to grasp that we changed the whole country. The Iraqi military is new and will not be able to support its self until an officer core is established, the new government settles in, and immediate areas surrounding the main cities is secure. Even if we did just up and leave nothing will have changed the country will still be a haven for those that wish to use religion and powerlessness as an excuse to kill and maim innocent U.S. citizens. President Obama addressed the issue stating that "To enhance the military, governance, and economic capacity of Afghanistan and Pakistan, we have to marshal international support."
The strategy that the Obama administration is utilizing is not an offensive takeover of a country that contain elements of terrorism but instead one of protection. The Obama administration stated that "To succeed, we and our friends and allies must reverse the Taliban’s gains, and promote a more capable and accountable Afghan government." By building up the middle eastern countries terrorist organizations will lose their training camps all through the region. The president worded it as "we have a clear and focused goal: to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat al Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and to prevent their return to either country in the future."
When this war started we got stuck down a one way road meaning that we cannot stop until all of the middle east is secured and able to defend its self from terrorist on their own. If US troops were to pull out suddenly the entire infrastructure that has been built up by years of security forces patrolling tribal lands and around cities. This is only a temporary role as the local forces start to take over the role as peace keepers. Obama stated his concern, " a return to Taliban rule would condemn their country to brutal governance, international isolation, a paralyzed economy, and the denial of basic human rights to the Afghan people." "we will shift the emphasis of our mission to training and increasing the size of Afghan Security Forces, so that they can eventually take the lead in securing their country."
